Malevolent Spelling Poster
This poster is revolved around the word 'malevolent'. It displays the definition, a use of the word in a quotation, a symbol that can help people memorize the word and represent the word at the same time, and the answer to how the word malevolent affects people in everyday life.
"To Kill A Mockingbird" Crossword Puzzle
I created a crossword using words on our spelling list from the novel To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee.
"Uncommon Criminals" Character Bookmarks
I drew a bookmark for both of the main characters of the book Uncommon Criminals by Ally Carter. Each bookmark has an illustration representing each character's role in the book, as well as a description and an explanation of their physical appearance.
Ukulele
For performing art, I decided to showcase me playing ukulele. I have been playing ukulele for about 2 years now and I can play most songs that are ukulele-based and all ukulele chords. Here is a gif of me practicing the intro to "House of Gold" by my favorite band, twenty one pilots. The instrumental is just the C chord with all the other strings muted so that you can only hear the high-pitched C when you strum. (Also, I used a gif because I was unable to upload the full video to YouTube.)
Dang. Look at that gif. Gifs are so cool.
How to mute strings on the uke
On the topic of ukulele, I'm going to demonstrate how to mute strings on the ukulele, or muting. If you pay attention to the gif above, you'll see that I have two fingers held across the strings of my uke. This is what muting looks like (for a C chord, at least). Muting strings enables you to mute all the strings (obviously) in order to let you play one chord at a time when you strum instead of playing a chord and all the other strings on your uke. I've put together a hopefully easy to follow slideshow that will you teach you muting.
